Glyve brings the things that move glucose onto one timeline, so it’s easier to see what happened around the same time and to bring clear reports to appointments. You can log by typing, by voice or with a photo of a meal, a nutrition label or a barcode, and every estimate is a draft you check before it’s saved.
What Glyve isn’t
Glyve is a logging and information tool, not a medical device. It doesn’t give medical advice, diagnose, recommend insulin doses or send glucose alarms. The insulin calculator does arithmetic on the settings you enter. Glyve Genius describes patterns in your own logs; it doesn’t say what caused them or what to do. Beacon is a message you choose to send, not monitoring or an emergency service. Treatment decisions stay with you and your care team.
How we write about diabetes
The articles on the Glyve blog follow the same rules:
- Primary sources first: original studies, systematic reviews and current clinical guidelines, such as the American Diabetes Association’s Standards of Care and Diabetes Canada’s guidelines. No news stories, blogs or company marketing as evidence.
- Every reference is opened and checked: authors, journal, year, DOI and PMID, and every number we quote is matched against its source (the full paper where it can be opened, otherwise its published abstract or the guideline itself). A verification log is kept for each article.
- We say what kind of study it was, who took part, how many and for how long, and we separate association from cause.
- Education, not advice: we never tell readers to change insulin or other medicines, and we point to the care team where it matters.
- mmol/L first, with mg/dL alongside, and Canadian spelling.
When we find a mistake, we correct it against the source. If you spot one, email info@glyve.ca and we’ll check it.
Accessibility
Diabetes can affect eyesight and fine motor control, and people often check this site on a phone during a long day, so it’s built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA: text you can resize to 200%, large targets, full keyboard use, visible focus, colour never used alone, and motion that stops when your device asks for reduced motion. If anything gets in your way, email info@glyve.ca.
